Deadline Information: The application deadline has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected
to be the same as last year. The date shown here is tentative based on last
year¿s application deadline date. Please check back in August for a refreshed
application deadline date. Applications are available online from the
1800Wheelchair.com website. Each student must submit an online form including
the following information: name, email address, phone number, school, grade
point average and target graduation date. In addition to the completed online
entry, each applicant must also submit an essay of 300 to 500 words in length in
response to the question, 'What advice would you give to your college's faculty
and administration to help your school better assist students with disabilities?' All
entries must be submitted by 12 P.M. EST on the deadline date.
Number of Recipients: One award offered annually.
Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable. Previous recipients will be eligible to re-apply.
Requirements: • This award is for international and U.S. students.
• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited
institution in the U.S.
• Must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Additional Information: Although not a requirement, preference will be given to students with mobility
disabilities. The winner will be announced on Jan. 30. The recipient's name,
essay, and photograph will be posted on 1800wheelchair.com website.
